PEPPOL-EN16931-R020 — Missing Seller electronic address

What it means

The Seller electronic address (EndpointID) must be provided — required on the Peppol network. Just like the buyer, the seller also needs a known electronic address so the document can be correctly routed on the Peppol network.

Whose data this usually is

Unlike PEPPOL-EN16931-R010 (the buyer's address, which the invoice issuer often doesn't know), this field is your own company's data. So this error almost always means your own Peppol participant identifier isn't set up correctly in your accounting software or in your Peppol service provider's configuration — not something you need to request from a customer.

How to fix it

Check that the seller's Party section has an EndpointID element with a schemeID attribute from the official Peppol EAS list (https://docs.peppol.eu/edelivery/codelists/). The accounting software or Peppol service provider usually knows the exact scheme and value — it's part of your company's Peppol registration data, which usually needs to be set up once in your company profile rather than on every invoice.

Example

Wrong: the seller section has no EndpointID element. Correct: <cbc:EndpointID schemeID="...">...</cbc:EndpointID> with a scheme and value from the Peppol EAS list.
